In 2018, Steve was invited by Mark Hart of the Walthamstow Rock'n'Roll Book Club to celebrate his 40 years at the BBC in conversation with journalist Tony Naylor. In support was the General Echo sound system, and Steve span some heavy dub plates to round the evening off.
The event was well attended with many ex-pat friends of On The Wire, and included erstwhile engineer Jethro R Binks, and former contributor/reporter Siobhán McAndrew.
